Teardrops

Tears slowly flood the sockets of my eyes, the sensation feels warm and begins to blind my vision. No matter how hard I try to hold it in, the feeling becomes out of my control. The pain lingers in my throat and as I try and swallow it makes its way down to my chest feeling like I’m ready to explode from the inside out. Unless I release the tears and allow them to roll down my cheeks, this heartache of unbearable sadness won’t begin to heal.

Why do emotions feel so intense? Why do we try and hold back the natural way of healing? Why do we push God away when we need Him the most? Can the natural way God intended our bodies to feel emotions help mend our hearts?

Sometimes I would block my emotions so I wouldn’t have to feel any at all. I used to numb the feelings I would feel any way I could, thinking it was the only way I could deal with my life. The problem is that the heartache would always make its way back to haunt me.

Once I decided to release all my pain and give it over to God. True happiness made its way into my life. Yes I still feel pain, yes I still feel heartache, yes I still feel sadness, but I have a loving Father to hand my burdens over to. This I know to be true, as the teardrops fall from my face and the pain releases from my heart it will make its way to Jesus who carries me through it all.
