One Last time

One last time is what he said to me as he excitedly jumped into the car and slammed the door; I reluctantly agreed. I was tired of him asking me if we could, it was like if we were kids walking into a candy store or waiting in line for a roller coaster. We drove down the street to meet the most important person in our lives at the time. Why? Oh, why does heroin do this to us? Completely changing our perspective and giving us a one-sided mind to live. Neither of us knew in these moments that the request for one last time would become a reality that would change both of our lives forever. Those three words will forever be embedded in my mind…
