Give it to God!
Last night I was whining to God about being unsure about my purpose.
God what is it that you really want me to do? Am I doing the right thing? Or am I following the right path?
Yes, I was complaining, but maybe it was more like I wasn’t feeling good enough or feeling worthy. It’s at times like this that I need to take a step back and ask myself, are these my own thoughts or is this discouragement from the enemy. It almost felt like I had no idea the direction God wanted me to go in.
Obviously as humans, we want answers now. We want to know when, where, and why. But sometimes we need to learn to wait on the Lord. We don’t know what he is doing behind the scenes. We don’t know how he is orchestrating our perfect futures. We just need to believe that he is guiding us.
I feel like without even realizing, I doubt God. But thats where grace comes in. God understands our frustration on waiting, but he wants us to trust him and have faith. So I cried out to God and asked him to give me direction. I said God if I’m not doing the right thing please make it clear to me so I can do what you really want me to do.
Well this morning after crying about not feeling worthy of my purpose, I got an email about information to a writing group here in Nashville that works with the incarcerated. In the email they suggested I go to one of their writing classes. I was humbled to say the least. Why? Because for years I’ve wanted to go to a writing class and not only that, this organization is doing exactly what my heart desires. Working with the incarcerated and working with people in recovery.
So, I believe God said to me, don’t give up my child. God knows that if I do these classes not only will it help me, but it will teach me to be more equipped to help others. Sometimes we just need to take baby steps to get to where we want to be. This was Gods little nudge after I was whining.
Sorry God for doubting your plans for my life, next time I will just give you my mess and go to sleep.
