Jesus Already Defeated Hell!

Anytime I fear anything or I question what the outcome will be in a situation, I keep saying that phrase over and over in my head.

Jesus already defeated hell!

Jesus already defeated hell!

Jesus already defeated hell!

I do this to remind myself that there’s no reason to fear anything. For example two weeks ago I was nervous because after going through a long period without my drivers license, I went to the DMV and took my permit test.

I was notified that I was eligible to go back and get my drivers license. So, I went to the DMV and was caught off guard when they told me I was required to re-take the knowledge test. They asked if I wanted to, and I thought I could at least try. It had been 22 years since I took it last time, so I guess it’s no surprise when I tell you I failed.

After feeling slightly disappointed in myself, I spent the next week, studying and preparing. I told God even if I didn’t pass again I would keep trying until I did pass. Then the morning came when it was time for me to re-take it again. I chose not to be scared & I chose not to be fearful.

I feel like we let fear get in the way of what God is trying to teach us. There’s no reason why we should be scared of anything, except for God. And when I say that, it’s not to scare anyone, it’s to remind you that the fear we have of him is a form of respect. Like a parent we know that he has our best interest in mind. We might never know what each moment of our lives will bring, but what we do know is that God is in control.

There’s nothing that we need to fear because Jesus already defeated hell. God can bring us peace, so in knowing that, we can trust that every day will be OK. The only thing now is that we have to have faith.

I passed the permit test by the way & now after 8 years I have my drivers license back. I didn’t need to fear anything because it all worked out, and it usually does. I overcame a hurdle that maybe a few weeks ago I felt was impossible.  That chapter in my life has closed and the new one is open. My fears could of kept me from moving forward if i didn’t hand them over to God. I’m glad my creator is teaching me these lessons, so that I can be ready for what new things he has in store for me.
