God Speaks Day 29
Spending time with God in jail.
December 8th, 2018
Proverbs 12:8- A person is praised according to their prudence, and one with a warped mind is despised.
Jeremiah 37:1-10- Zedekiah son of Josiah was made king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he reigned in place of Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim. Neither he nor his attendants nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet. King Zedekiah, however, sent Jehukal son of Shelemiah with the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to Jeremiah the prophet with this message: “Please pray to the Lord our God for us.” Now Jeremiah was free to come and go among the people, for he had not yet been put in prison. Pharaoh’s army had marched out of Egypt, and when the Babylonians who were besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them, they withdrew from Jerusalem. Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of me, ‘Pharaoh’s army, which has marched out to support you, will go back to its own land, to Egypt. Then the Babylonians will return and attack this city; they will capture it and burn it down.’ “This is what the Lord says: Do not deceive yourselves, thinking, ‘The Babylonians will surely leave us.’ They will not! Even if you were to defeat the entire Babylonian army that is attacking you and only wounded men were left in their tents, they would come out and burn this city down.”
My Thoughts:
People who speak the truth, who speak goodness bring that to the table of their life. It brings understanding, they bring what they present, and everything is based on what we put out in the world. Be careful not only with how you speak, but how you think as well. We need to really learn to listen to God and what he's saying. We will be able to get through whatever we need to get through if we just listen. He is talking to us from every angle through people, through his work, through our minds, our dreams there are so many ways to communicate through to us. We just have to pay attention and realize that God loves us so much and he only wants what's best for us.
You are so amazing Lord please allow me to get through jail which I know I won't be here for long but help me to stay calm and the way you need me to be. Sometimes being in certain situations you can get caught up. I don't want to be that way, and when people are talking in a way I don't agree do I always step in, or is it just best to just stay quiet. If I think it might cause issues I will stay out of it because I don't like confrontation. God I just thank you for walking with me every day Lord I pray over you and your will from my life. I pray for my family, my children that you just continue to keep them safe. You are truly amazing and all that you do for our lives. Lord, I pray for my sisters who are struggling for my brother who is struggling. Bring freedom to their hearts, bring peace to their minds, bring love that overwhelms their spirits. I love you and all you do for me and everyone that helps me to continue to see the good and all you created. I want it to become stronger in my faith, I want to become closer to you and I feel everything working every day. I feel the change in myself and I see the difference in the prayers that I've made.
