God Speaks Day 17

God Speaks Day 17

Spending time with God in jail.

November 26th, 2018

2 Samuel 11:26-When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him.

Luke 19:1‭-‬10- Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

My Thoughts:

Sometimes in this life we can do the wrong thing. We get so caught up in the world around us that we can lose our focus on the important things. Some suffer with lust, some with greed, but God can see our hearts; he looks deeper than we can see with our human eye. I truly know and believe that there is good in all of us, but sometimes we just get so lost in the sin or in the things that are hurting us that we accept it and the sin becomes us. The beauty is that it is not who we are, we are so much more. God sees the love in your heart and soul because he created you that way. He molded you in your mother's womb and the breath of his spirit flows through your body. Sometimes we need something just like jail to sit us down to listen to God and wake us up to make us realize we are more than what we have done.
