A Writer’s Heart
I never know what I’m going to write about.
My mind has many thoughts and ideas, but most of them are not planned. Some of them just come to me in the moment. They have even woken me up from sleeping, or stopped me in my tracks wherever I am. I’m lucky to have my phone, because I can just jot down my thoughts into my notes instead of looking for paper.
Like this for instance, here I am writing about not knowing what I will write about until the time comes for me to write it. Does that make sense? Thats another thing, sometimes I don’t even know if what I write makes sense. I think about the grammar, I think about the way I phrase things, but then if I really think about it; I don’t care. I don’t care if it looks proper or if it would be an A+ in school, because it’s just me.
Made for some, but not for everyone. I make sense to me, I write out my feelings and thoughts for me, and I hope that someone can understand it along the way. What really makes me think about this is my new adventures into the writing community. As someone who isn’t highly educated around mostly educated, experienced writers, I sometimes wonder if I fit in?
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned so much from this community of wonderful people, but I would be lying if I didn’t question my value to them. Then I think about my creator and I soon realize that none of it really matters because if he understands me, then I know my worth is far more precious than the rubies of the world.
So I will continue striving, writing, reading, learning. I will stand firm in what I know and be willing to find out what I don’t. I know I’m not for everyone and that is ok. But I do hope that by writing whatever I write, that someone somewhere sees Jesus in it all. I said it before and I will say it again, he will be everything I write about because he is what changed this broken mess of a woman. He mended my heart and gave me purpose. So why wouldn’t I want to share in this glory, and the only way I know how to do that now is by writing.
