into our lives at any time, but it’s how we overcome it all that matters. In 2018, my life gave the definition of tragedy a whole new meaning. As I found myself locked away in a jail cell facing the reality of my addiction, the pain and loss I caused my victims began to burn in my soul. I knew that the remorse I was feeling was a direct reaction to guilt. I also knew that even though it felt like I had lost all hope, God had a different plan. I didn’t know what His plan was, but I knew He wasn’t through with me. He was going to use my tragedy to touch people’s lives. I spent most of my days writing or reading my Bible. I had all the time in the world so why not utilize it? As I grew closer in my relationship with God, I became overcome with peace. I didn’t know what my future looked like, and I was ok with that. I knew God was in control and He knew what was best for me. This would be the first time in my life that I didn’t try and control everything. Trusting in God has led me to create poetry, articles, lyrics, an upcoming album, and an upcoming book. Everything I write is based on my relationship with God and how He helped me overcome the pain I’ve faced in my life. Many late nights writing, crying, praising God, long days in the studio and I can’t even express the amount of pain over these years I’ve experienced. Pain that pushed me to cry out to God for mercy. The amount of love God has shown me through this healing journey is the reason this album has a storyline in the first place.
